On Friday, July 3 from 5–9 p.m., the Hawai‘i State Art Museum will host FIND ART, an Art+Flea arts and music festival on the lawn and museum grounds. Presented by the Friends of HiSAM and FLUX Hawaii, FIND ART will feature more than 25 vendors, live performances, and arts workshops by HiSAM-supported artists. The event will be a celebration of the Hawai‘i-based community of visual and performance artists that the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts has long supported.
Art and food vendors will be intermingled with workshops by Honolulu Printmakers and performances by KTUH, PAGE, TV Microwave, The Rightovers, Patrick Oiye on shamisen, and Edelyn and Ellison Agustin throughout the first and second floors of the museum. A no-host bar will be provided by Kona Brewing Co., Koloa Rum Co., and Barefoot Wine.
This July marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the HSFCA and programming around this momentous occasion will continue through July 2016. On display at HiSAM’s Diamond Head Gallery is the exhibition, “Voyaging: The Art of Wayfinding,” which features a selection of maritime art from the Art in Public Places Collection.
FIND ART is free and open to the public. Parking is conveniently located across the street at Alii Place for $3.
