UYEDA SHOES

Uyeda Shoes, selling shoes in Hawai‘i since 1915.

Claire Takashima once walked to her family’s shoe store at age 3 when she thought her mother broke a promise to bring to her to the store that day. At age 5, Takashima asked her father if she could take over the shoe store when she grew up. True to her destiny, Takashima runs Uyeda Shoe Store to this day, being the third generation of her family to run the store since it opened in 1915. In just four years, the store will reach its 100th anniversary.
