Kirsten Rae Simonsen is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores notions of displacement, colonialism, nostalgia, privilege, private versus public property, and the promises of the suburban and pastoral fantasy. Simonsen has shown her work nationally and internationally, including a site-specific installation for the Zendai Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai, China in 2008, and at thirtyninehotel in Honolulu.
Join us for the opening exhibition for Simonsen’s solo show Put Yourself in a Better Place with Your New Home, Thursday, June 21 from 6-9p.m.
