For all my friends with filet mignon taste on a hamburger budget: LISTEN UP! LuLu’s Waikiki is the only place on the island that offers eight ounces of flame-broiled USDA Choice top sirloin, glazed with homemade teriyaki sauce for around $13!
Readers may wonder: How do you find a place like this? Well, it was my first night in Hawai‘i, and I had no idea where to find the good eats. Unfortunately, everywhere in Waikiki was flooded with tourists looking for the same. I found myself reservation less and turning my nose up at fast food America. So out of frustration, I decided I was going to drink my meal that night. As I stumbled into (and later-out of), LuLu’s Waikiki I was relieved. There was a mixture of middle-aged locals, tourists, and some older clientele breaking it down on the dance floor [MY.KIND.OF.PLACE.].
If you are hungry – so hungry that you don’t know what you want – you should check in to LuLu’s. Patrons can find fresh island poke, burgers, wings and sushi on the menu. However, hands down and forks up, the best item on the menu are the teriyaki steak bites. The service is amazing, but if you like your steak medium, ask for medium rare.
