We were honored to host the presentation of Reyn Spooner’s Hawaiian Indigo and spring/summer 2015 collections during New York Fashion Week on September 10 at The DL Rooftop. The Hawaiian Indigo collection showcased the evolution of Reyn Spooner’s Modern Collection through a mash-up of vintage prints, patterns and fabric textures, drawing on inspiration from the beach and ocean. The collection, which was tailored in Hawai‘i, also featured a print designed by Alfred Shaheen that captures the chrysanthemum flower in different shades of blue in Reyn Spooner’s classic reverse-print. Reyn Spooner’s spring/summer 2015 collection was inspired by O‘ahu’s fabled North Shore, with vintage-cut swim trunks and funky surf-inspired prints.
The event also kicked off the fall Aloha Friday issue of FLUX, which releases nationwide starting in October, as well as an exclusive collaboration between Reyn Spooner and FLUX. From lei from The Hawaiian Lei Company for industry insiders and press to a Roberta Oaks gift bag filled with goodies by Honolulu Cookie Co., Hawaiian Bath & Body, Mauna Loa, and Get Salty, the event truly brought the spirit of aloha to New York City.
