“ʻohuʻohu (intoxication)”

Eh, all you gotta do is walk by
to catch the scent
of the mountain, salt off the sea
cotton candy petals
baked in the sun
turnt nani under the Mōhalu moon

the deftness of ʻAnake’s hands
is remembrance of her laughter freed
timbre twisted ‘twixt green leaves
and moves like patience

an adornment of unseen mists
collected in the gardens of ancestors
creates new thought, entices out memory
a circle incomplete till you .
