FLUX Hawaii presents Silas Stoddard, A Solo Exhibition, at Hotel Renew.
Artist Statement
“From as far as I can remember, I have looked to art as a source of contentment. Early in my childhood, the process of creating had been my plaything. It later became a major part of my growth process and the principal part of my life. The arts by which we choose to live, can give meaning to our lives, help us adapt to change, express that change, and create chances for it. It’s a life long work in progress and I’m always working out a vocabulary of forms or icons. More so, I strive to create a work that becomes aware, honestly forceful, and vast. My art is often a kind of narrative pulled from experience, and other times it’s a snapshot of lyrical imagery spit onto the canvas. My aesthetic vision often consists of interactions between feminine and masculine elements of design. I continue to explore a verity of avenues and subject matters.”

It is wonderful to see the transformation of the piece featured in this article. The talent and metamorphasis of this artist touches my heart and spirit. Silas's work has inspired me through the years. He should be extremely proud of all he has accomplished. I wish I could have seen the entire exhibit. I am sure it was beautiful. Peace Light and Blessings......... B<3
so excited!
I was a student of Silas' when he taught. I'm proud to know him and wish I could be there for his exhibition. He is an amazing and interesting man. I love his work.
Art is critical for the human soul. It is no different than air or water since it engages our spirit and helps us relate to our world and understand each other. Each one of us has the capacity to express ourselves in an art form. When we decided to support student artists last year and recognize them for their achievements, we were quite surprised by the quality of their work. We are pleased to know hotel renew has agreed to host Silas Stoddard in this art first exhibition on the property.
