SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC! SUPPORT COTQ!

They call themselves clones, but they aren’t no followers. Leading the local music scene with what they describe as “spirited, spaced-out electronic rock,” Clones of the Queen, made up of Ara Laylo, Paul Bajcar and Matthew McVickar, are going for it, hitting the studio this week to record their first EP. Utilizing the online fundraising tool Kickstarter, COTQ has already raised more than $1,200 in just 10 days by asking their fans, friends, and family to help fund the EP’s recording and production. (We’re still hoping someone will pool their money with us, because for a $5,000 donation, Ara will get our initials tattooed on her leg, Paul will carve our name into his guitar, and Matt will laser-etch our name onto his laptop. Immortalization is just one click away!)
In short, this bunch rocks. Haunting but melodic, otherworldly yet grounded, COTQ will have us marching two by two beside them for as long as they’re around.
