The Analog Sunshine Recorders are launching their Kickstarter to crowdfund their book Wake Up, We’re Here. The book will be created by eight people with cameras, over 18 days, traveling 3,000 miles in one van. Proceeds from the book will go back to funding the development of the group’s activity and help create more community arts projects and exhibitions by providing a budget for materials, exhibition and independent publishing.
The project will be documented by eight individuals, including Honolulu photographer John Hook and his family, Samantha, and Bella, AJ Feducia, Chris Rohrer, Chad McGuire, Kara Akiyam, and Vincent Ricafort. Organizers of this project are John Hook, Honolulu Weekly editor’s choice for Best Professional Photographer, and Vincent Ricafort, this years reader’s choice for Best Filmmaker.
The Kickstarter campaign ends on November 18 at 8 p.m. The book will become available for public sale in January of 2013.
About the Analog Sunshine Recorders
The Sunshine Recorders are an ever-growing, Hawaii-based photo collective. ASR has been responsible for a number of independent exhibits in Honolulu, drawing people together to slow down and experience things in analog and celebrating the joy and magic of photography and lo-fi technology.
