In Hawaii, layering can be pretty problem: You look great with your comfy knit sweater, but as soon as you leave the confines of your room or a restaurant…you’re sweating bullets! Luckily for us, a big trend that’s been ongoing throughout the year has been incorporating sheer or lace pieces to your wardrobe; Problem, meet Solution!
Instead of going the safe route, I wanted to show you some great risk taking, but perfectly chic ways to be a lace/sheer show stopping sistah. Don’t be afraid, I promise you’ll like it ;).
Dress: ASOS Black Price: $163
Asos is the biggest online retailer in the UK and they’ve finally added a US site within the past year. They carry a lot of great brands that are hard to find on the island, but what I really love about them is their in house brand. They incorporate modern, trend-conscious, chic staples that are much like their competition (H&M and Zara). This dress above is such a great way be sexy without the slutty attitude of a major T+A everywhere! I would suggest pairing tights under the bodysuit if the idea of showing your gams scares you.
Brand: Alexander Wang Price: $787 (ON SALE!!!)
What girl doesn’t love Alexander Wang? He’s been trail blazing the fashion world by giving every girl the coolest way to wear everything from tops, dresses, and bags. I’ve seen this dress in person at Aloha Rag and I was taken back by the way it incorporates menswear while still maintaining a girly mentality. I’ve definitely acquired a taste for this dress, so give this dress a few detailed looks and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it!
Brand: David Lerner Price: $70 (ON SALE!!!)
David Lerner creates sexy basics which is exactly what I see in this sheer racer back tank! Can you imagine having a blazer over this top, walking into a place with judgmental fashionistas, and suddenly you take your blazer off and BAM! Everyone’s jealous (and kind of hates you for looking hot). This is an amazing way to be understated-sexy, because sometimes less is more.
